The Brief

Homeowners across Bristol come to us wanting the same thing: a home EV charger that works properly, is safe, and looks right on the house. Installing a charger is not simply a case of fixing a unit to the wall and taking the quickest route back to the consumer unit. Each of the installations in this case study was approached individually, with the property, the vehicle and the finished appearance all considered before any work started.

What We Did

Our work on each installation included:

  • Surveying the route: checking the existing electrical installation and available capacity, then planning the neatest and least intrusive route from the consumer unit to the charger. Where the charger sits beside the meter, photos are often enough to quote; more complex routes get a site visit.
  • Choosing the position: placing each charger close to the meter or supply where possible, within easy reach of where the car is parked, and where it sits neatly on the wall.
  • Neat cable runs: cables clipped straight and tight to the brickwork, or routed discreetly under canopies and through covered passages, so the finished installation looks tidy rather than improvised.
  • Correct electrical protection: each charger fitted with the correct protection for the new circuit, with terminations made carefully inside the unit.
  • Testing and commissioning: every circuit tested and every charger commissioned before we left site.
  • Handover: showing each customer how to use their charger and its app, and answering any questions about scheduling and smart charging.

The Result

Safe, tested EV chargers positioned sensibly on each property, with clean cable routes that respect the home. The photos below show a range of Bristol installations, from a black Ohme charger on red brick to chargers beside the meter cupboard, in covered side passages and under canopies. Every EV charger we install is backed by our 5-year full warranty cover on the installation, with local aftercare from the same Bristol team.

Installed price: from £1,299 + VAT (Zappi, Hypervolt or Ohme Pro), £1,399 + VAT (Simpson & Partners) or £1,599 + VAT (Andersen), depending on the charger and cable route. Every job is quoted at a fixed price first.
