HB Electrical was founded by Harry in 2018, shortly after relocating to Bristol and starting a family here with his partner.

Moving to a new city meant starting completely from scratch. Harry had no established customer base, no network of local contacts and no steady stream of work to fall back on. So, he built one.

In the early years, that meant working tirelessly — often 12-hour days, seven days a week — building a reputation one customer and one job at a time.

As recommendations grew and more work came in, Harry reached the point where he could take on his first apprentice. From there, the business began to grow steadily, with a constant focus on improving the quality of the work, the customer experience and the service HB Electrical could offer.

Fast-forward to 2026, and what started with Harry working alone has grown into a team of more than 20 people across two businesses — HB Electrical and Bradford Challen Group.

Despite the growth, the principle behind the business has remained much the same: do good work, look after people and keep improving.

Harry has always particularly enjoyed working within people’s homes. There’s something incredibly rewarding about taking an outdated property, understanding what the homeowner wants to achieve and then watching it gradually transform.

That passion ultimately led HB Electrical beyond purely electrical work. After years of rewiring properties and helping customers coordinate the other trades involved in their renovations, Harry helped establish Bradford Challen Group — a dedicated home renovation and upgrade company capable of managing much more of the transformation under one roof.

Today, Harry’s focus isn’t simply on installing electrics. It’s about understanding what a customer wants from their home, finding the best way to achieve it and building a team capable of delivering it properly.

Whether that’s rewiring a first home, transforming an outdated kitchen or bathroom, carrying out structural alterations or managing a wider refurbishment, Harry still gets the same satisfaction from seeing an idea turn into a finished home that the customer loves.

Bristol may not have been where Harry started, but it’s where he built his family, his businesses and his reputation.

From arriving in the city without a single customer to having now worked in over a thousand Bristol homes, HB Electrical has been built almost entirely through years of hard work, recommendations and the trust of its customers.

And despite how much the business has grown since 2018, Harry’s ambition remains simple:
